Triad Area Four Week Board and Train

Our sweet girl Marley is home! She spent the last two weeks at what I call the BEST puppy camp ever! Camp Lucky Board and Train worked with our sweet girl and she came home so well behaved and excited to do some more learning! As someone who grew up around dogs and training I can always spot out a GREAT trainer and let me tell you Jessie and his team are AMAZING! They are amazing with the pups and the family, nothing but patience and kindness. We truly recommend them and will be telling everyone about them!

We signed our 5 month old Belgian Malinois up for the 2 week board and train program with Jessie, and we are so impressed by the results now that she's back home. Our pup had a decent grasp of basic commands but really struggled with recall, barrier frustration (e.g., pulling on her leash to smell and eat everything/see and smell other people/dogs), doorway etiquette, and holding commands for duration. We heard that Jessie had experience with training working breeds and were excited when Camp Lucky recommended us to work with him. That was a big draw for us that he had worked with our dog's breed and would be familiar with her specific needs. He told us he would get her to walk off leash/loose leash, and we were stunned to see her do so well in a heel walk off leash with us the day she came home. She's also able to hold in her sit, down, and place commands for quite a while and with several distractions/us leaving the room. With the Camp Lucky board and train, they include lifetime refreshers, and we were happy to hear from Jessie checking in to see how Millie was doing a few days after she came back home. Jessie set us up for much future success during the "people training" when he dropped her off by staying with us and making sure we were confident in executing everything he had taught her. We know she's going to live a much safer life with this training as part of her foundation, and we are much more confident dog parents! We can't thank Jessie and Camp Lucky enough for everything they have given us to help Millie be the Malinois she is meant to be.

My pup recently finished a puppy training program with Camp Lucky and we absolutely loved it! I knew my dog would be safe - which is something you can't be sure of at a dog park or with random dogs you may meet on a trail. Jessie worked with my dog individually, multiple times per day on coming when called around distractions (squirrels, bunnies, and other playful dogs) and helped him learn how to play appropriately with dogs of all ages and sizes. I can't say enough about how valuable this experience has been, truly worth every penny and then some. I love the smart, compassionate team at Camp Lucky, and I wouldn't trust my dog with anyone else.

This has been life-changing for my dog and our relationship! Before Camp Lucky my dog was so reactive I couldn’t walk him. Every other dog, squirrel, bird, etc. would elicit lunging and barking. He was pulling away from me on walks and had 0 recall. Now, walking Sue is an absolute pleasure. As I write this review, we are sitting on a dock by a lake filled with geese and ducks. This experience has been nothing short of miraculous.

Jesse trained our puppy, Olive. Before going to Campy Lucky, Olive barked all the time, jumped all over people, scratched at doors because of separation anxiety, and pulled on the leash. Since her board and train with Jesse, Olive now sits, lays down, remains in a set place that you command, responds to “off” as a command (stop behavior) and heels on the leash like a champ! We have not tried her off leash yet, but know we can in the future because Jesse taught her that, too! Jesse is very friendly and patient and he formed a real relationship with Olive. Olive completed her training weeks ago and Jesse has continued to check in about her progress and offer helpful advice. If I have any dogs who need help in the future, I will call Jesse.

We sent Ellie to camp Luckys, because she is a Very anxious dog. Jessi was wonderful and reassured Ellie and I that she would be taken care of while she was in their care. Unlike a boarding facility, they take the dogs home with them and give them love and affection. They also give daily report cards that really helped me feel like my dog was taking care of and I got a kick out of seeing her pictures. In addition to the original training, we also had the support of the trainers after she came home to make sure that we were continuing her success. I honestly cannot recommend them highly enough. It’s just so wonderful to see how much confidence my dog has gained. Thanks to their hard work.
